Calculus removal and curettage in periodontal pockets from a depth of 5 mm. Better access and greater freedom of movement in the crown area thanks to the first shaft being 3 mm longer. XS curettes have a shorter tip than XL and Gracey standard curettes. Access to the narrow root surfaces is eased and thereby reduces tissue trauma.
